Access rules
Access rules define who is permitted to enter, where, when and under what circumstances. They are built from previously created components:
- Barrier groups
- Identity groups
- Access schedules
INFO
Each rule is configured with specific direction, and meaning that if a barrier requires a card for entry and a REX for exit, two rules must be created (one for entry, one for exit).
Examples of access rules
- Ingress rules: control access into secured areas.
- Egress rules: control access when leaving an area (often with a REX button, but can also be authorized using an egress reader).
- Unlock rules: control when barriers shall be unlocked by schedule.

Reviewing and testing rules
- After creating rules, review configurations to ensure accuracy.
- Test each barrier to confirm rules are functioning as intended.
- Validate that identities, schedules, and barrier groups align with security policies.
