Managing devices

A device is a connected network device. The device must be supported by YourSixOS to be connected. YourSixOS only supports Axis devices.

Before adding a device, ensure that an organization and a site have already been added.

Adding a new device

  1. From the navigation bar, select Configuration.
  2. On the page menu, select Devices.
  3. Use the search function or browse manually to find the device.
  4. Click the device row.

Configure common enrollment settings

  1. Select the organization and site where the device will be added.
  2. Configure retention settings:
    • Cloud retention
    • Edge retention
    • Event retention

Enter device information

Complete the required fields:

  • Device name
  • Serial number
  • OAK (Owner Authentication Key)
  • Device description

TIP

Use + Additional device if adding multiple devices with the same common settings.

Click Add # devices to finalize the upload. Successful enrollment will display a green checkmark and a Success: Added message.

Connecting device

Option 1: Physical one-click

  1. Power the device and connect it to network.

TIP

If the device is not new, perform a factory reset.

  1. One-click the device to connect it to the cloud:
    1. Click the control button of the device:
      • For devices that have autofocus, focus assistant or any other utilization of the control button, the button needs to be pressed for three seconds. For other devices, a quick click is sufficient.
      • When a one-click operation has been registered, the LED will flash amber. When the device is hitting the AXIS Dispatcher, it'll flash amber once more. When the dispatching process is complete, and the device is connected to YourSixOS, the LED will flash green once.
    2. Release the button. The device will connect to the platform.

Option 2: Parameter setting

Within the Axis device interface, set the O3C enabled setting to Always. The location of this depends on the firmware of the device, see Axis Knowledge Base.

Troubleshooting

If issues occur:

  • Verify network connectivity and power supply.
  • Perform a factory reset if the device was previously used.
